Beijing Tong Ren Tang Showcases the Splendor of Traditional Chinese Medicine Culture at the 3rd Hometown Fair and Carnival

On June 1, 2025, the opening ceremony of the 3rd Hometown Fair and Carnival took place at Victoria Park, Hong Kong.

As a beacon of Beijing’s cultural heritage and traditional Chinese medicine (TCM), Beijing Tong Ren Tang Chinese Medicine Company Limited (BTRT), the international arm of Beijing Tong Ren Tang, captivated attendees with a dynamic booth display. The exhibit blended the unique charm of Beijing’s cultural essence with the profound legacy of TCM, offering citizens a harmonious fusion of tradition, modernity, culture, and wellness. Fan Hong, Director and Union Chairman of China Beijing Tong Ren Tang Group Co., Ltd., along with Yan Han, Assistant General Manager and Executive Director of BTRT, and Zang Yi, Assistant General Manager, attended the booth activities alongside the management team of BTRT.

The 3rd Hometown Fair and Carnival, a grand event celebrating regional heritage and community bonds, fosters cultural exchange to evoke deep connections to hometowns. Distinguished guests, including Chris Tang Ping-keung, Hong Kong SAR Security Bureau Secretary, Shi Ronghuai, National Committee of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference member and Beijing-Hong Kong Associations President, and Martin Lee Ka-shing, Beijing Municipal Committee member of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference and Executive Vice President of the Hong Kong Beijing Associations, visited the Beijing Tong Ren Tang booth. Guided by Fan Hong, they explored with great interest the premium TCM products and rich cultural heritage of this centuries-old brand.

During the visit, Tang, Shi, and other guests expressed keen interest in Beijing Tong Ren Tang’s “Top Ten Signature Products” and “Top Ten Famous Medicines,” particularly the craftsmanship of Angong Niuhuang Wan, a national intangible cultural heritage product. They lauded the enduring quality and artisanal excellence. Amid the summer heat, guests savored Beijing Tong Ren Tang’s additive-free herbal beverage, Honeysuckle-Chrysanthemum Drink, appreciating the brand’s commitment to traditional craftsmanship while meeting modern health needs.

After understanding about the emergency efficacy of Angong Niuhuang Wan and the health benefits of Tong Ren Tang’s Niuhuang Qingxin Wan during summer, Tang and Shi praised the meticulous planning and dual online-offline supply channels that ensure efficient access to TCM products for Hong Kong citizens. They expressed deep gratitude for Tong Ren Tang’s longstanding contributions to public health and well-being in Hong Kong.

As a key player in globalizing TCM, Tong Ren Tang has been rooted in Hong Kong since the 1990s, establishing a local production and R&D center, building a localized service team, and opening retail stores and wellness centers. These efforts integrate TCM into Hong Kong’s development while embodying the vision from the 27th Beijing-Hong Kong Economic Cooperation Symposium: fostering “Beijing genes, Hong Kong lineage, Chinese manufacturing, and global products.” This approach drives economic diversification and enhances public welfare in Hong Kong. At the carnival, the booth, themed “Inheriting TCM Culture, Safeguarding Public Health,” showcased over 130 Chinese medicines and supplements, earning widespread enthusiasm and attention from attendees. Interactive elements like product display walls, QR-code-guided audio tours, TCM consultations, and displays of intangible cultural heritage products allowed visitors to immerse themselves in the charm of traditional culture.

Looking ahead, Beijing Tong Ren Tang will continue to deepen its presence in Hong Kong, delivering high-quality TCM products and services to support the city’s health initiatives and contribute to the innovative development of TCM in the Greater Bay Area.
