Beijing Tong Ren Tang Chinese Medicine Company Limited (hereinafter referred to as "BTRT") recently participated in the "The Belt and Road Alliance for Traditional Chinese Medicine" (The Alliance) Government-Industry-Academia-Research Leadership Forum and the "Presidents’ Forum 2025" held at The Chinese University of Hong Kong. The company engaged in in-depth discussions with leaders and experts from various sectors and officially joined Belt and Road International Laboratory for Innovative Traditional Medicine Research (Joint Laboratory) , marked by an inaugural ceremony.
During the roundtable session, BTRT collaborated with authoritative experts from government bodies, industry, academia, and healthcare institutions to explore pathways, standards, and strategies for the global expansion of Chinese medicine.
BTRT emphasized its role as a strategic cornerstone of the Beijing Tong Ren Tang Group in penetrating overseas markets. Upholding the principles of "renowned physicians, prestigious stores, and distinguished medicines" alongside robust product promotion, the company has successfully established a business model tailored for international markets. Over the next five years, BTRT plans to systematically advance its global outreach strategy, advocating for and implementing the harmonious coexistence and mutual development of Chinese medicine with traditional medical practices worldwide.
At the Presidents’ Forum, BTRT was formally inducted as a founding member of the Joint Laboratory. The unveiling ceremony for the Joint Laboratory was attended by prominent figures, including Mr. Leung Chun-ying, Vice Chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference, Dr. Lo Chung-mau, Secretary for Health of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, and representatives from the Liaison Office of the Central People’s Government and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
The Joint Laboratory aims to foster collaboration and exchange among traditional medicine research institutions across Belt and Road countries and regions, focusing on innovation in traditional medicine. This platform will provide BTRT with expanded opportunities for advancing Chinese medicine research, facilitating the transformation and application of scientific achievements.
The successful hosting of the forum garnered widespread acclaim from participants and marked a significant milestone in Beijing Tong Ren Tang’s internationalization strategy within the Greater Bay Area. Leveraging the Joint Laboratory as an innovation hub, BTRT will harness its role as a founding member to collaborate with global partners, accelerating the standardization, modernization, and globalization of Chinese medicine.
