Following the major fire at Wang Fuk Court in Tai Po, China Beijing Tong Ren Tang Group Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as “TRT Group”) and Beijing Tong Ren Tang Chinese Medicine Co., Ltd. (hereinafter “BTRT”) express deepest condolences to the deceased, sincere sympathies to affected families and injured rescuers, and respect to frontline workers. Beijing Tong Ren Tang is fully supporting relief efforts with HK$5 million in dedicated funding and comprehensive Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) services, upholding the heritage brand's motto of “Nurturing kindness and virtue, preserving tranquility and wellness”.

Swift Emergency Response Builds Extensive Support Network

BTRT activated its emergency mechanism immediately after the incident, coordinating store-wide support to establish a broad relief service network. Six senior TCM practitioners are stationed on-site, delivering professional medical consultations to affected residents. ​

Those TCM practitioners address prevalent symptoms including respiratory discomfort, skin swelling, acute hypertension, and emotional distress triggered by shock, with special attention to patients' sleep quality and mental state through targeted counselling to alleviate anxiety and restore psychological well-being for many.

Beijing Tong Ren Tang Staff Lead by Example, Embodying Compassionate Care

Notably, one of our TCM practitioners was himself among the victims, with his home severely damaged in the blaze; after securing his family, he rushed back to the relief clinic to serve victims. He stated: “As a Beijing Tong Ren Tang TCM practitioner, duty and conviction compel me to the frontlines. With my family properly settled, I must focus on treating the affected.”

Meanwhile, BTRT promptly provided condolence money to another impacted staff member, addressing urgent needs for temporary housing and daily essentials. Multiple BTRT stores have also initiated internal fundraising to honour the affected TCM practitioner.
